I am a storyteller, not a writer.

I am stepping out of my comfort zone to share 30 years of insights, research and learnings on Making Space.

I love expression, and I value authenticity. At 51, I am stepping forward to share the gifts I have been given and the experiences I have gathered. For a long time, I held back, fearing negative comments, rejection, and the vulnerability of putting my perspective into the world. As a woman raised in the South, I was taught to be seen, not heard. But if you know me, you know that staying quiet isn’t in my nature.

I am an introvert who has learned to be an extrovert. I have high energy, but I do not need to be center of attention. I can be reserved, yet wildly passionate when I need to stand up for something. I see things that others often miss. I thrive at 50,000 feet, but I am not afraid to get into the details when necessary.

I only know how to love fully. I am honest and transparent. I speak my truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. I am a woman who has faced adversity in the workplace. I am a mother to a daughter who has endured trauma. I fight for women, yet I reject hatred toward men.

My fear of sharing my voice is deeply rooted in childhood shame. I am dyslexic, and as a child, I was undiagnosed. Teachers mocked me. I still remember teachers who ridiculed me openly in class. I hated school. I felt unintelligent. That shame silenced my voice for years, terrified of being humiliated again.

But now, I am ready.

I am giving myself permission to lean into blogging to share with others. I hope you join me on this journey – Making Space- physically, emotionally, spiritually. My new blog series, Making Space, will focus on three key pillars:

  1. Creating Space,
  2. Holding Space,
  3. Occupying Space.
